Early Life & Education
Born on 16th June in Bangalore, Mrs. Shashi Suresh completed her B.Com in Bangalore.
Driven by her deep interest in spirituality, she pursued an M.Sc. in Value Education & Spirituality.
Career & Service
She began her career at the State Bank of Mysore and later worked as an Announcer at Doordarshan, Bangalore.
After marriage, she moved into the field of education and founded the Bal Shivaji Play School in Chennai in 1986.
She is the Treasurer of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Educational & Cultural Society, which manages two schools in Chennai, the main institution established in 1975.
Inspired by her father-in-law, Late Captain K. B. Navale — Past President of ABBK (TN) and recipient of “Samaj Bhushan” — she developed a deep commitment to education and social service.
Leadership & Social Service
She is a Child Counsellor and an active member of Bhavsar Vision India – Chennai, where she has held various key positions at both club and national levels.
She served as the Governor of Area 102 (2017) and led several impactful initiatives, including holding
Online Talk Shows during the pandemic and conducting a record number of Vidhu Var Mela events.
Rotary Journey
A passionate social worker, she is an active Rotarian in Rotary District 3232 and a proud member of the
Rotary Club of Royapettah, Chennai.
- Instrumental in starting the Interact Club at CS DAV School, Kodambakkam
- Recipient of the Best Secretary Award (2013–14)
- Served as President (2014–15)
- Held several positions including: Women Empowerment Chairperson, Membership Development Roles, etc.
Along with her husband (when he was Governor), she organized a highly acclaimed National Annual Conference in Chennai (2010),
which became a benchmark for others across the country.
Inspirational Travels
Mrs. Shashi Suresh has travelled extensively across India and around the world. Some of her remarkable journeys include:
- Chennai to Leh via Kargil – 10,200 km road trip (2008), self-driven
- Spiti Valley expedition (2020)
- Self-driven caravan trip across UK & Europe
- Trips to Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau & Sri Lanka
- Invited to the prestigious IIFA Awards 2016 at Madrid, Spain
- Sailed on the world’s largest cruise — Harmony of the Seas
- Two visits to the USA, including a self-driven RV trip (2023) with family & grandson
Family
She is happily married to Mr. Suresh Navale, Correspondent of the schools and her constant pillar of support.
They are blessed with two sons:

Mr. Suraj Navale – Mechanical Engineer, MS Automotive (UK), manages the branch school with dedication.
His wife Sonam (MBA) supports all family projects.
They have a 3-year-old son, Reeyansh. -
Mr. Harekaran Navale – Lawyer (Shastra University), practicing at Madras High Court, passionate about
social service & dramatics.
Played a key mediation role in the Ayodhya case with senior advocate Shriram Panchu.
